First Official Day of the 2020 Hurricane Season

Today, June 1st, marks the first official day of the 2020 hurricane season. Are you ready? In this article you will find helpful tools and downloadable PDF links regarding this years hurricane season.

We also would like to remind you that the 2020 Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday will end on Thursday, June 4, 2020. During this sales tax holiday period, qualifying items related to disaster preparedness are exempt from sales tax. Click here to view the qualifying items. Another helpful tool is the Hurricane Door Hanger. In the aftermath of a severe weather event, place the GREEN “OK” hanger on door if you are OK. If you need immediate assistance, place the RED “HELP” hanger on your door to indicate your need for emergency assistance. Lastly once an evacuation center is opened, evacuees will be asked to follow the guidelines set by the Center for Disease Control and Florida Department of Health.
